So just over a week ago my friend Lori and I had a boutique at my house! It went so well. We had 10 people show up. It was a lot of fun and we even sold some stuff. It was very encouraging. I know I get discouraged with my etsy store because I haven't sold anything in a few months off of there. Lord willing that will change soon.

The hardest part to our boutique was that about a week before it Lori announced to small group that she too is pregnant with me! We are about 9 days apart on our due dates. But by God's grace we both survived. We have both not been feeling well, so it was good that we felt good that day. But I am so excited that we are both having babies together. Right now I am just hoping I start feeling better soon so I can get the house cleaned back up and get caught back up on house work. Taylor's birthday party is Saturday so I better start feeling better and getting a lot of work done to get the house ready and get everything we will need for it!

Promoting Etsy: My Story

Here's my story! I joined etsy a while ago, but I had plans to sell little girl clips. It didn't work, I sold nothing. But then I received a large amount of yarn from my grandmother who no longer needed it. I have so much. That's when I decided to would crochet stuff to sell instead. That's how much yarn I have, I could never use it all for my family and friends. I do how ever make things for friends as gifts. Just recently I have gotten a few sales from friends and that motivated me to work hard to promote my store. I love having my store on etsy. I just wish it was easier to sell stuff. I have gotten lots of advice as to what to do. I have updated my photos, still want to redo them yet again, added more than 24 items to my store, and I was putting one item in a day to keep my store fresh and at the top of the list. But there comes a point when it costs to much to do it all the time. Now that my store is full I decided to hold off on renewing for now. I intend to add more stuff to my store once I get photos of the new stuff done. So with that not working I decided to look into getting involved in teams. I started in the newbie team. From there I found out about another team called the promotion and fun team. I love that team as well. There are two threads on that team where if you purchase something from the store on the list you will be added to the list! I have joined both threads, I love that since this is a business I keep track of all my expenses and income, so the cost in buying into these threads goes toward advertising costs!!! One of these threads the gal who runs it also runs a lot of bnrs. So when she is short on stores to fill a bnr she will pull one of us from the list to fill in the blanks! It's great because I have gotten three sales from it. But sadly that is the only sales I have gotten. I have been fortunate enough to have some sales threw friends as well.

I have done some other advertising stuff, but with no availe. I gave a pair of earrings to a waitress that was extra sweet, giving out business cards to people who comment on the stuff I made that I wear. But the one I am the most excited about is an upcoming boutique a few friends and I are planning on holding! I am hoping to not only sell lots of stuff, but to hand out lots of business cards that they will in turn give away to their friends and family, you know, get my stores name out there even more! For now I am just working hard making stuff and trying to continue being a part of all the teams I have joined, and get my store out there for others to see.

Mother's Day

It was a good day. Got to listen to Smed preach on day four and five in Genesis! It was amazing. What a great reminder to look at the sun set and rise and remember how amazing God is. Also the stars and the moon, and enjoy the sun, all praising God for what He created. Then lunch with my parents and my brother! I finished the laundry yesterday, so I got to sit back and enjoy the day. Its the first time in a long time that I got to hang out with Jerry and Taylor and not have house work to work on. It was great. So to all you mothers out there, I hope you also had a good mother's day.

Well in the past three weeks I have gotten three sales! Its funny I have sold a lot of earrings and earrings isn't what I intend to keep making and selling. I guess I will have to re-think that. But I am excited I got one sale from a friend and one sale from two people that I don't know and through promoting on etsy. I guess it paid off to join some teams and buy into a Buy and Stay thing on etsy. Its kind of cool how they work. Someone picks some stores, mine has been chosen a few times, to feature. Then its open for up to 12 sales. Those that buy from that list will then be featured the next time. The only problem I see is its mostly sellers involved. So we are buying from each other. That is cool and all, but some of us don't have money to be buying a bunch of stuff. But I am greatful for the sales I have gotten. I am just hoping I continue getting sales now that my sale count has gone up and my feed back has as well. So I am hoping that non-sellers that see my stuff are more inclined to buy from me. I really enjoy crocheting and making stuff, I just hope my store takes off soon. I am also excited because some friends and I are planning to have a boutique in July! I hope that will also help get my store out there and encourage people to pass on my site. We shall see!

So as many of you already know, I have a shop on etsy and I am trying to cultivate sales. I know I am always trying to find ways to make extra money for our family and this is the latest venture. I work for my dad part time, mostly from home, but its accounting work and mostly once a year work too. There is a little bit through out the year, but not much. Our hard times are the fall. I work spring/tax season, then Jerry works over time during the busy months of summer at his job. Then comes the fall/winter. His work slows down. I did partylite for a while, technically I still can, but not really trying to. So I inherited all this yarn from my grandmother as many of you already know. What am I going to do with it all. I had already tried selling some hair clips on etsy and jewlery, but that didn't seem to go over well (no sales). Then I decided to sell the stuff I crocheted. After all I can use only so many blankets, earrings, shawls, and hats before my house will be overflowing with such items. I have had lots of interest from friends and gotten quiet a few sales. So this is where I am going to stay, crocheting and trying to sell on etsy. I have had two people that I do not know threw etsy purchase baby blankets. It was a dream come true, or at least an answer to prayer, Thank you God for allowing me to sell to someone outside my friends and family, what a blessing! Anyway, so now I am doing all I can to try and promote my store. Yes I love to ride horses, but I will never be amazing at it. I enjoy it and love doing it, but I have refused to ever jump higher than 3 feet. I did once and it scared me to death. Okay not really, but I am glad I did it but never want to do so again. But with crochet I love it and I don't want to brag, but many friends have commented and said they love my stuff, thanks my dear friends. It has really encouraged me and excited me that while my Grandmother was an artist that painted beautiful paintings, made beautiful pots out of clay, knitted beautiful things, gardened, and even crocheted, that I inherited something from her. I just love finding fun projects and taking what I have and making them. Some projects are on hold until after my stash is small and I can actually purchase the yarn and colors I want. It has been good though because my desire is to eventually only make some items for my store. They will be baby blankets, baby, toddler, and little kid beanies, baby booties, and flower clips and headbands. These are all simple projects that I just love making. Family Get Away

Well this last weekend our little family took a trip up to my parents new cabin. This was our first time just the three of us. It was fun. Saturday it began to snow! It was beautiful, but it was so strange thinking back to only months ago when we were there last when it snowed. I had just found out I was pregnant, so I was only 3 1/2 weeks along, and we had lunch that weekend with my Grandfather. Since then I miscarried at 6 weeks (December) and my Grandfather died right after the new year. God has taught me soooooo much through this hard time. I am so thankful for everything God has done, it was so hard to go through, but I have gotten to know Him even better because of it and I know that I can trust Him. I am really learning a lot about what it means to trust Him completely. I am finding myself learning again what it means to be completely content. Meaning yes I want another little one, but that I love Taylor and I am okay if she is all He chooses to bless me with. She is a wonderful daughter and I praise God everyday for her.

Well, as for our really fun weekend, it was awesome. We got to play in the snow! Jerry taught Taylor how to throw a snow ball, she loved it. Then we played hide and seek again with her. Jerry hide while Taylor and I went looking for him. To make it fun for her I made up a silly song and sang what I was doing. I decided to look in the pantry (the lights turn on when you walk in) and as I was going to look behind the door I was singing to Taylor that I doubted Jerry was going to be there since the lights weren't on. As I pulled the door back there stood Jerry, trying so hard not to laugh at my silly song! I screamed so loud! I was soooo not expecting him to be there. It made for some fun memories.

Well, I have decided to start focusing on my etsy store and get some sales. I joined a circle that helps those of us who are new to etsy and struggling to get sales. One of the pieces of advice that I received was to post about 24 items in my store. I realized that I have not yet had that much in my store at one time. So everyday until I have filled my store with everything I have made to sell I will be posting something. So if you have looked at my store today, keep coming back because I will continue posting new items everyday. I also set up an account through facebook with my store information to help premote my store. I do take requests, that is if I am able to do them, so don't hessitate to ask. If I can't do it I will let you know, otherwise I would be more than happy to do it!

Life

Well, things are going great with my etsy stuff. I still only have two sales of stuff I have made on etsy, but I have sold a few things to friends who have requested stuff, so fun. Right now I am finishing up making two scarves for an old friend and for a new friend I am making adorable little girl hats. I just finished making similar hats for my cousins twins! They turned out so adorable, can't wait to see the girls with them on. I am so busy from now until Christmas. I think with knowing that Jerry and I are leaving the day after Christmas for the Bahams is what is stressing me out. So much has to be done before Christmas, including packing us and having Taylor and her stuff ready for staying at her grandparents house. But one step at a time. Things are one by one getting done, which is awesome! But it is like school I stress until things start getting done. Even though it school you are given four to five months to get all of a sememsters worth of work done, it didn't matter it just felt like it was all due the next day. That was a great lesson for me in school to learn, start getting stuff done, the stress goes as the list gets smaller. So that is what I am doing. All the Christmas decorations are almost done and will be by Saturday. Christmas cards start going out by tomorrow, so by next week they should all be delivered and done. By the end of this week my friends scarves will be done and I will be able to get working on the hats. The hats should take no longer than two weeks, with plenty of time for Christmas! So that is how crazy my life is right now. Now I am just hoping to see my etsy store sell a few more already made items!

Well, like I said last time, I have now sold two items that I have made on etsy. Unfortunately I haven't sold anything since. But I have sold through friends and family a few items. I sold a scarf, a beanie hat, and a baby boy blanket. All of them loved them. I am in the process of making two hats for my cousins twins. I am sooo excited about that project. I just started and it seems to be coming along great. Now I am just hopefull that I might be able to sell a few more items on etsy. I do love etsy, but sometimes I wish it wasn't so hard getting started on selling stuff. But thankfully I have sold a couple of things, now I just hope it starts picking up a bit more.

I just got my first sale on etsy!!! I am so excited. I was starting to think I would never sell anything. But Praise the Lord, He has allowed for me to finally get my business started!!! The best part is the blanket that sold was one of my favorite baby boy blankets that I made! So it is encouraging. Well, that is all for now. At least I got a chance to post another post!!!

Okay, so I am so bad at keeping up on my blog. I guess it is time to at least try. My etsy store doesn't seem to be much of a success at all. Bumber. I am trying to think of other ways to sell my hand made things. Maybe going to a craft fair, posting them on ebay. Not sure yet. But I am thinking that I might as well keep making stuff so that I have a nice size inventory. Okay so I have mentioned before that I have a store on etsy. I have also inherited all of my grandmother's old yarn. Since I love to crochet, I have started making stuff with it. But of course I don't baby blankets up the wazoo, so I decided to sell what I make in my etsy store. So far I have only had one sale, yarn that I did not want to work with. It wasn't much. But I wanted to post this blog reminding or letting people who didn't know before that I have this store. I know that there are lots of babies on the way, and wanted to let everyone I can that I have a few items for babies for sale in my store. So I ask that you at least go and check it out. I have checked on different store websites on regular blankets, and found that my prices are pretty competitive. Granted mine also takes into account for the fact that I have spent time on the peice. Plus when looking at other things for sale on etsy, my prices are rather low. Zoo

Well, I am sad but happy at the same time. As it turns out thanks to blogger I still have a few of the videos of Taylor. The extra drive we put them all on completely crashed, so we lost them all. But I think I posted the best ones that I had of her anyway.

Well, for Jerry and mine's 6th anniversary we took Taylor to the zoo. It was fun. The animals that were close up and big she defiantly saw them and pointed them out. It was good to finally take her. It made for great memories. When we got to the jaguar's cage he/she was running all over the place and running up it's tree branch and everything. Taylor loved watching it run all over the place. She kept pointing and saying her favorite word, bear. Just before we left it's cage it started calling or hissing or what ever the noise it is it makes. It was loud, but made for a great memory. I also got to take Taylor in the petting zoo part and she didn't freak out over the goats like she did at Mother Natures Farm. I guess going and seeing the horses at my barn helped her not be so afraid. She is still leary, but isn't as scared. She really likes watching the horses.

Well, with the economy being so hard on us financially, Jerry lost the little bit of over time he had once again. So with that in mind I am always trying to find ways to make a little extra cash. I work for my dad, but during non-tax season times of the year I don't have very much work. I tried PartyLite, but not to much success. I am still able to sell it, but stopped trying to have parties. It's too hard being the consultant and the hostess to a party. But now I have decided to try something new, something I have wanted to do for a while, sell hand made stuff (jewelry.) I have never known how to sell it until recently. I just learned about etsy.com. They are a website for people like me to sell my handmade stuff. So with the jewlery I had made not long ago I opened a store and I am selling the stuff I made some time ago. Plus I have also decided to make clips for little girls hair too. Boy am I bad at keeping up on this thing. Oh well. Well Taylor is ten months now, and she has mastered the crawling thing. She is now on to learning to walk. she had taken quiet a few steps all by herself. In fact, yesterday she stood up for the first time all by herself. After standing she took a few steps. She is growing up so fast!!!

Taylor is now seven and a half months old. She is trying so hard to figure out the crawling thing. She basically scoots backwards. Although yesterday she was on all fours and went backward one whole crawl step and staid on all fours. Its been fun. I can't believe how fast she is growing. Well, I have been meaning to post her six month photos, but our computer crashed. so here I am trying to do so now. So here are a few. I will post more later when I have time to make them small enough. The lady that did our wedding photos did Taylor's six month photos. She is so awesome. Enjoy!

Taylor is doing great

So Taylor is doing good. The doctor thinks she had a virus that caused her to throw up and he said that it fits that it sent her to the hospital. He believes it to have been hepatitis. He said it is normal to have hep and end up in the hospital. We have one more test to have done to be sure there isn't anything else that could be causing her enzymes to have gone up instead of a virus. But he is confident that she is fine, but doesn't want to miss anything, just in case. So that is the latest with our little booger!

So Taylor had a very adventurous week. It was scary for Jerry and I, but God protected all of us. Well, I went to BSF on Monday night, so Jerry fed Taylor a bottle and put her to bed. When I got home I noticed in the monitor that she was awake, but not fussing. I wasn't thrilled with where she was laying. So before we went to bed I decided to check on her and maybe move her. When I went in there I reached in to move her and found that she was soaking wet. Instantly I realized that she had thrown up. I called Jerry in to help me get her cleaned up and get the bed sheets changed. While I got a bath ready Jerry told me when I came back that she had been trying to throw up again. She just kept dry heaving. As I gave her a bath we started to notice how pail she was. She wasn't crying, just sitting there so content. But we knew she wasn't feeling well. After getting her out of the bath we decided to call the 24 hour nurse. She suggested calling 911 and having an emt look at her and evaluate whether she should go to the hospital. When they got there they put oxygen on her right away. it helped a bit, but not enough. She didn't even flinch when the pocked her foot to test her blood sugar. So they decided to take her in. From what the hospital said they think she had a virus, according to the findings in the blood test. But thankfully she didn't throw up again once they got the iv in her. She came home yesterday, Wednesday. She was there for just over 24 hours. They just wanted to monitor her and be sure she wasn't going to throw up again. She is doing great now. Back to herself. I posted a picture of us when we finally fell asleep at the hospital just before we were taken to Taylor's room for the rest of our stay.

Well, exciting news, Taylor is sitting by herself, with mom right there to catch her when she starts to fall. She can also stand holding on to something without me holding her. Course, again I am right there to catch her. She really enjoys sitting up right when she plays. She doesn't like it much when she is on her back. But here is a few picts of her sitting alone. Isn't she just so darn cute!!!

Christmas was a lot of fun, but we were all also sick too. Thankfully Jerry and I didn't start to feel real bad until the next day. Taylor had a lovely little Viral Infection. But she is better now. I have posted pictures and video of the fun Christmas day.

It is almost Christmas and I am still trying to get my Christmas cards out!!! I can't believe how far behind I feel I am getting. I have not been able to check email, facebook, and finish setting up my blog for a few weeks now. I just feel like I am drowning in housework and work. Taylor takes up so much time, that my "breaks" I am busy getting everything else done. But finally here I am, getting the background of my blog done, and adding a blog. Now just to send the link to friends and family. Someday it will happen. Oh well. But I am looking forward to Taylor's first Christmas. It should be fun. I have wrapped some of her toys that we have for her that she has been to young for yet, and we will see what happens as we have her "Open" them. We will take lots of pictures. This Christmas is more for Jerry and me than for her I think. I know she will have no clue what is going on. We are also thinking about going up to my parents cabin for the New Year, which would be fun. Hopefully there will be some snow we can play in with Taylor. But it will depend on the weather. As long as no major storms come in that weekend we should be able to go. Otherwise we will risk getting stuck.

I can't believe Jerry and I have now been married for five years, as of this last Saturday, November 15th!!! I can't believe it has been that long. So much has happened. Of course spending three years of it trying to figure out what was wrong with me, and trying to figure out how to not be in so much pain. It's funny that I didn't get a good handle of my Interstitial Cystitis until after I got pregnant. Since having Taylor I feel great!!! I haven't felt this good since I first started having problems six months after we got married. Praise God that my IC is finally under control. It does bother me here and there, but nothing like it use to. Now I am able to just ignore it and keep going with my everyday life. So I have to say that God has taught me a lot through it all, at least I am content with my life the way it is. Sure I can't have soda or chocolate or many other foods, but I am okay with that now. I have not lost all the baby fat that I gained, but no one but me can tell. I am glad that I haven't lost too much. I was worried about that. But I am able to breast feed Taylor without any problems. She is as healthy as can be, considering my diet restrictions. Again I just have to praise God for His provision and blessings on my life and Taylor's. Now if we can keep her from being so fussy!!! But I guess that isn't too bad since she is getting better about taking naps, and she sleeps all night.

Halloween was a fun night for Taylor and us. She got to wear her first costume. She was Tigger. She also got to ride a pony for the first time. I promise you it will not be the last time. She didn't seem to mind it at all. It was amazing because she didn't cry that night at all. Unfortunately she seems to have caught her first cold. The poor thing. It is not fun as a mother to listen to her breath as you can hear the congestion in her nose. Bellow is a video I was able to take of Taylor rolling over for the second time. She has done it two other times now since then. Yesterday she did and almost rolled into my face, cause I was laying next to her when she decided she didn't want to be on her tummy.

Okay, so I have figured out how to follow peoples blogs, kind of. I am still learning this thing. It is hard. I still have not figured out how to post pictures. Plus I don't know how to find people. Taylor is finally here!!! She was born August 1, 2008. She weighed 7.8 pounds and was 20 inches long. She is almost two months old now, and she is holding her head up when she is on her tummy. I can't believe how fast she is growing up. At first it was hard cause she cried a lot, but she is finally getting better and not crying as much. She loves to coo, and sometimes doesn't mind being a long, but it only lasts for a very short time. Jerry's parents are coming the first week of October to see her for the first time. So we are very excited about that. It should be a good time since she isn't quiet baby baby anymore, but a bit more fun and interactive than she was when she was first born.

I am exactly two weeks away from my due date for little Taylor Ryan. Once she is here I figure I will have lots of pictures of her to post for everyone to see. Until then there isn't much else to post or even talk about. I know it is very hot and her head is now down in my pelvis, which means my bladder has become her pillow. Yippy for me. I have decided I am now in survival mode until she comes. The pain in my bladder is as bad as it is when my interstitial cystitus is flared up, but I know it is not because I can feel her moving on my bladder causing it to hurt. Plus I know now what foods to avoid to keep my bladder from hurting like it does now. I know this too shall pass someday, and I sure hope soon.
